Welcome

G'day mates, this is me and my beloved husband Niels' blog where we'll share our experiences from our fantastic honeymoon. We've been together for 3 years now, and is finally married. We're SO happy for each other, and we both love animals and nature very much, so what place would be more perfect to visit than wonderfull Australia?

And since that we are homosexual, we obviously booked a hotel in Sydney, that is known for it's gayness. Sydney also hosts the big homosexual carnival, Mardi Grass, that appears as planned when we're present.... so Australia here we come!

Just arrived

10:43 am. Finally we've arrived at our very nice hotel located at Crown Street in Sydney. In our gallery that's placed on the sidebar to the right, you'll find some pictures of our luxurious apartment and it's location. We've chosen in agreement to use our first day in the jacuzzi and stay in vicinity of the hotel, so that we have the time to arrange ourselves and relax. Even though our attendance in the apartment is going to be a bit low, cause we both are very much outdoor people and sociable too. Plus we've chosen some days outdoor witch contains sleeping under the open sky. Me and Niels have never been that kinda people who lies on the beach all day long relaxing, and to relax is as much mental as physical.
We like to go out and explore as much as possible and love to exploit our body's.Especially when we're together about it  ;-)

Mornin' Australia

Fantastic morning to you! Just enjoyed breakfast in bed and now getting ready for today. We're going out to rent a 4-wheeler and then drive to Fraser Island that is the world's biggest sand island, where you can find oasis and old ship ruins, stranded on the beach. There's growing rainforest in the sand varied with sand hills and freshwater lakes.

Self Drive Fraser Island with a 4-wheeler!

On Fraser Island in the diamont shaped sand :)

Fraser Island was just as or more fantastic as described. We've been driven around all day in the sand, swimmed in the mirror-like lakes, learned how the island was formed, been way around in the rainforest (which's filled with many different kinds of animals and creatures). And when the time came for lunch, we sat down in the sand and ate our palatable packed lunch, while we watched the wildlife.  FANTASTIC!
and now we know why the Aboriginal owners called it `paradise´

Ayers rock (Uluru)

We've just started our day with some Australian breakfast in the jacuzzi, that's how it shall be
Niels have no choice but to follow me to The big red kangaroo rock, Ayers rock (Uluru) The typical place for a tourist. And I'm not leaving the area around it before I've seen a kangaroo. So we've packed some food, liquid, some beers for me and sodastream for Niels, cause I've established that Niels' stomach can't tolerate all the beer.

Niels is just started packing our 4-wheeler, while I'm slacking in front of my laptop. But i probably have to prepare my self and help my pleasurable husband. I look forward to tell you what takes place out there with the kangaroos. seeya!

Here I am (Alexander) in front of the laptop.
My hair looks great, dosn't it?

                                                                        Back from Uluru
The most insane thing happened to us, mainly to Niels. My wish came true, I saw my kangaroo, and it was close I tell ya. We'd just finished eating and I saw something moving in the distance. I had Niels to hand me the binoculars, it was a little hard to see what the fuck it should imagine, but the closer it got it revealed itself as a red kangaroo. I got overwhelmed with excitement, and Niels too.

From distance

Allthough I love animals I don't feel like touching it, I think wild animals can be quite disgusting sometimes, you'll never know where they've been.
So I begged Niels to go and try to touch it, and cause he's so fantastic, he did it for me!

Niels the brave, love him and love the picture

It really seemed to enjoy it, but suddenly it stepped back in some kind of defence mode.

really looks grumpy if you ask me

And neither me or Niels attained to respond before it just charged Niels and kicked him in his stomach!

Niels vs. Macropus Rufus

We had nooo idea that this sweet looking animal could turn into a kickboxing monster, we were shocked!
Our intentions was far away to treathen or hurting it, we arren't that kinda people. Anyway's Niels took it like a gay and startet laughing, after we'd checked that he was allright (:
Probably the most odd and crazy thing that has ever happened to me, and Niels says the same.
Besides our little meeting with the kangaroo, we did some walking around the enormous stone. Really beautiful area around it too.
And it's actually much bigger than you think when you see in on pictures and such, try to look....
From here it dosn't look that high, but when you get closer

tremendous rock, try to look at the car below

nice and desertly

So it delights me to tell you that it's been another perfect day. And I'm sure that the kangaroo had fun too :D cause we had....

Danger Australia

When we came home after Niels' collision with the sweet red kickboxer kangaroo,  I went on the internet and read about this creature, and actually found out that, the red kangaroo, in latin called Macropus rufus, which means "Red bigfoot". Actually can be quite dangerous although they look cute.

I think it looks cute

A big male, maybe a leader?

The Red Kangaroo is the largest living marsupial. Males can grow between 2.3 metres and weigh up to 198 pounds. That's a pretty big kangaroo if you ask me. And remember all of these numbers are roughly-numbers ofcause, but true

The female is smaller and have a blue-grey colour, usually called the "blue flier". The Red Kangaroo hops on its powerful back legs, and reaches the speed of 38 miles per hour.
Kangaroos usually stay in the same area, but if there's a drought they can travel up to 112 miles, looking for food.

the claws

Macropus Rufus has an impressive jump, it can leap over a
10 feet high fence, and it's jumping strides can be over
17 feet long! and a big quality is,
that it uses about the same amount of energy
hopping fast as it does hopping slowly.

Here's a video that shows a untamed male in a studio.
Surprisingly attack
Look at this incredible jump

When a red kangaroo baby is born it's blind and has no fur.
And it's about same size as a bean

Diet and habitat

The Red Kangaroos eats grass and other vegetation.
They can go for long periods of time without drinking,
because most of their required moisture comes
from green plants.

They live in dry scrub areas and
open savannahs of Australia.
Either they live alone, in small groups or they
gather together in larger groups, rarely over 1.000.
But massive groups has been seen
by around 1.500

A group of Kangaroos are known as a mob.
Male Kangaroos are known as boomers
females as flyers and young as joeys.
Magnificent animal.

Kangaroos fight by standing on their rear legs and boxing with their front legs/arms.
They can also balance its whole body on their stong tail, next, they lift their back legs of the ground and hit out with their sharp rear feet .

So we're taking a day home. Then we have some time to explore more of big Sydney, and find a nice place to eat, and spoil our self. Anyway Niels' paunch have to heal a little

Around town

So we chilled around in Sydney, did some shopping and enjoyed the Australian culture. And Niels couldn't resist this ugly hat which he absolutely should have.

And we found a very nice and interesting place to eat, with fair prices too. It's called,
Chinta Ria ......Temple of love.
The food was very delicious, the place itself was a little odd, but that's not a bad thing according to us.
You can also choose to eat out back at cockle bay, with a fantastic view of the habour, and it's so nice in the evening with all the lights around . It's so romantic and we didn't even knew that when we chose to eat in the temple of love.
